About Us
Shalom Mennonite is one of two English-speaking Mennonite churches in Indianapolis. We were planted in 1992 by our sister church, First Mennonite. We are a small but active congregation, with some members living in the immediate neighborhood and others spread as far as Noblesville, Greenwood, and Richmond, IN. No matter who you are or what you've done, you are welcome to visit us, worship with us, and even join us in our quest to follow Christ in a broken world.
According to our mission statement, "Shalom Mennonite Church is a diverse faith community, rooted in the Anabaptist Christian tradition, being transformed by God’s grace. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we follow Jesus together as we worship God, grow as disciples, support one another, and share God’s love, justice, and peace with those around us and the world."
If you have questions about our worship services, see the Sunday services or FAQ pages. To learn more about our theology and practice, read this introduction to the Mennonite tradition or the founding covenant of our congregation.
